Corn Maze and Layout
I was hired to design the website for The Old Freeman Family Farm (which can be found @ www.andersonfreemanfarm.com). This led into a discussion about how they were going to make their corn maze for this year’s Grand Opening. I quickly volunteered and set to work with the design. I first had to GPS the limits of the field they were planning to use, so I would know my stopping point. Once I obtained that I then set to work using AutoCAD to design the layout for this year’s maze. Their wanted to incorporate the name of the farm and the windmill that was a big topic on the farm, it had a lot of history with the family. Once the design was complete I was able to borrow a mapping grade GPS unit from Wesley Parker, an engineering friend that owns and operates Parker Engineering in Statesboro, Georgia. With this unit I was able to lay out the design in a couple of afternoons and the team at the farm stayed close behind cutting out the pattern. The project turned out great, especially for a first time for everyone, and I wish them much success with their new venture. If you have any desire for such a project just contact us.
